2014 Back to paradise
This year's Safari break was again in South Africa at the wonderful Umlani Bushcamp in the Timbavati game reserve on the edge of the famous Kruger National Park.
A particular treat was to meet up again with Marula Mafusi, a Leopard we watched hunting last year, but without luck. Clearly this time we saw her after a more successful hunt.

And last but not least for the pictures of South Africa 2013....
Over the past 20 years we've been on Safari almost every year and we have seen a huge number of different animals.
One of the species to allude us was the Pangolin - so it was a fantastic surprise to encounter one this time in Sabi Sands near Nottens Bush Camp.
A measure of how special a sighting this was is that when we saw it all the guides in the vehicles that came to see it were getting their cameras out. For more info on these fantastic creatures African Wildlife Foundation - Pangolin info.

A massive ground dwelling bird (capable of flight though), the Ground Hornbill has a cry which is totally evocative of the African Bush. Click here to hear what one sounds like.
Honey Badger
I just love the Honey Badger - an animal so packed with attitude you can almost feel it's aggression and willingness to take anything on. We saw this little ripper near Umlani.
