Strange how Cape Buffalo always stare at you with a "You owe me money" look."

Impala - (referred to as the MacDonald's of the bush, because if you look closely at their behind they have an M shaped marking and all the big predators eat them.) An American lady on our Safari vehicle asked the guide one day "Do Elephant eat Impala?" . How he kept a straight face when he answered I don't know!

That's neat, that's neat, that's neat, that's neat... I really love those Lion feet.

Who said Hyena aren't cute?

This little fella was one of three we saw outside a den near Umlani Bush Camp. This one often sat back whilst the other two played.

Evening on the deck at a Safri Camp in South Luangua.

Guinea Fowl
Beautiful Kingfisher, Zambia 2011
It rained quite hard when we were in South Luangua in Zambia in 2011, and when we returned to our room after dinner we found these Brown House Snakes entwined around the metal grill screen which separated our bedroom from the outside.
The Millpeed is preyed on by very few other creatures as it contains Cyanide. We saw this fine specimin in Zambia in 2011 in South Luangua.

The Delta from the air.

Reflections on the Delta.

The Okavango Delta. Paradise on Earth.

One of the many islands in the Okavango Delta.

Reeds for thatch waiting for a house.

After a few trips, nipping behind a bush for a wee loses it's sense of risk - until that is you look up and see, fluttering just in front of you, a freshly shed skin from an Angolan Spitting Cobra. Botswana 2007.

Wildlife encounters can be close and unexpected. Botswana 2007.

You wonder what's going on behind those eyes. We watched a pride of lions in Zambia lounging near a river bank. A light aircraft flew over, many hundreds of feet up. Every one of the pride looked up and followed the path of the plane until it was out of sight.
